Hoe kom je in Los Alcázares

Twee luchthavens, twee veerboten en één autovriendelijke snelweg. Plus alles wat je moet weten over autorijden in Spanje.

Corvera Airport (RMU) - Murcia

40 minutes by car. Direct flights from UK (London, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Dublin), Netherlands (Amsterdam, Eindhoven), Belgium (Brussels), Germany (Berlin), Sweden (Stockholm), Norway (Oslo). Ryanair, easyJet, Jet2, Tui, KLM. Car hire on-site (cheaper than Alicante).

Alicante Airport (ALC)

60 minutes by car on the AP-7 motorway. Much wider flight network - over 100 destinations. Larger car-hire fleet, often slightly more expensive than Corvera.

Driving from the UK / NL / DE

Two-day drive via the Portsmouth–Bilbao ferry (Brittany Ferries, weekly). From Bilbao it's 9–10 hours south on motorway. From the Netherlands or Germany allow three days via France.

Car hire

Strongly recommended. Public transport between villages is limited and the area's best experiences (golf, day trips, beaches) need a car. Book ahead in school holidays.

Driving in Spain - quick tips

  • Drink-drive limit: 0.5g/L (lower for new drivers)
  • AP-7 motorway is toll-free south of Alicante
  • Speed cameras are signposted but frequent
  • Both passport and driving licence must be carried in the car
  • From the UK: bring a Green Card from your insurer, and headlight stickers
